Ingredients:
- White flour
- Corn flour
- Salt
- Cold cubed butter
- Grated cheese
- Water
- Sea salt (for sprinkling on top)
Cooking steps:
- In a bowl, combine white flour, corn flour, salt, and cold cubed butter. Crumble the butter into the flour and mix until you have a fine, crumbly texture.
- Add grated cheese to the mixture and gently mix until evenly dispersed.
- Add water to bring the dough together. Squeeze the water into the dough until it becomes more elastic.
- Shape the dough into a flat square, wrap it in cling film, and refrigerate until completely set.
- Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius (320 Fahrenheit) with the fan on.
- Roll out the dough gradually to a thickness of approximately three millimeters (0.1 inch).
- Use a cutting tool of your choice to shape the crackers. Square them up and keep the scraps for re-rolling.
- Arrange the crackers on a tray lined with non-stick paper. Sprinkle them with sea salt and optionally, poke a hole in each cracker.
- Bake the crackers for around 18 minutes, or longer for a crispier texture.
- Allow the crackers to cool on a rack or enjoy them straight from the tray. Enjoy!
