Old School Corned Beef and Cabbage Recipe for St. Patrick's Day

Thank you hello my old school softball family! Chef Jeff Jeff is back with another video. Hi y'all, it's almost St. Patrick's Day and you know the Saint Patrick's Day tradition, there's corned beef and cabbage, y'all, and I'm gonna show you my edition of corned beef and cabbage. It's very simple, very easy, nothing to it, y'all. I'm cooking it on top of the stove, but you can also cook it in the oven. However, the results are slightly different. But anyway, let's get started. Enjoy this classic Irish dish for St. Patrick's Day celebration. It's a one-pot meal that is hearty and flavorful. Remember to cut the brisket across the grain for the most tender result. Happy cooking!

Ingredients:

  1. 2.5-pound brisket (corned beef)
  2. Potatoes
  3. Carrots
  4. Cabbage
  5. Onions
  6. Seasonings (celery seed, mustard seeds, bay leaves)

Cooking steps:

  • Rub the spices on the brisket and place it in a pot filled with water. Add onions and simmer for 1.5 hours.
  • Add potatoes and cook for another hour.
  • Add cabbage and cook for an additional 30-45 minutes.
  • Remove the brisket from the pot and slice it thin, cutting across the grain.
  • Serve with the cooked vegetables.
