Baked Mozzarella Sticks

Hi guys, Chef Kevin Belton here. I hope you're having a fantastic day and happy holidays to you. If you need something quick to keep those people from eating everything up, how about making some baked mozzarella sticks? They're simple and tasty. All you need is string cheese, seasoned flour, eggs, and seasoned panko breadcrumbs. Let's get started!

Ingredients:

  1. String cheese
  2. Seasoned flour (seasoned with creole seasoning, salt, and pepper)
  3. Eggs
  4. Seasoned panko breadcrumbs (with garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and parmesan cheese)

Cooking steps:

  • Cut the string cheese in half.
  • Dip the string cheese into the seasoned flour, ensuring it is fully coated.
  • Shake off any excess flour and dip the cheese into beaten eggs.
  • Allow any excess egg to drip off the cheese and then coat it with seasoned panko breadcrumbs.
  • Place the coated cheese sticks on a baking sheet and freeze them for a little while.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Transfer the frozen cheese sticks onto a baking rack lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  • Keep an eye on them while baking to prevent the cheese from oozing out.
  • Serve the baked mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
