- 2lb / 900g beef
- 2 onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 6 oz / 170g bacon
- 2 carrots
- 2 celery stalks
- 3 tbsp flour
- 14.9 oz / 440ml Guinness beer
- 3 cups / 750 ml broth
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp butter
