Baked Ham with Pineapple and Brown Sugar Glaze

Hey y'all, it's Rosie, and I'm going to show you how to make the best pineapple glaze ham. This recipe is a classic that I've updated with a few new steps and ingredients. For this recipe, you'll need a ham between 8 to 10 pounds. We're going to decorate the ham using pineapple rings and cherries, securing them with toothpicks. Make sure to reserve the juice from the canned pineapple rings and cherries, as we'll be using them in the glaze. To make the glaze, combine the reserved pineapple juice and cherry juice in a bowl. Add in honey, yellow mustard, dark brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground clove, and ground ginger. Stir until well combined. To thicken the glaze, add cornstarch and mix until fully incorporated. Next, pour the glaze into a saucepan and heat over medium-high heat until it starts to boil and thickens. Once the glaze reaches a desired thickness, turn off the heat. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Place the ham in a baking dish and pour the glaze all over the ham, making sure it is fully coated. Bake the ham uncovered for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the ham from the oven, baste it with the glaze again, and return it to the oven for an additional 20 to 30 minutes. Once cooked, the ham will have a beautiful caramelized glaze. Serve it as the centerpiece of your holiday table or any special occasion.
